From the grading end of things!

We used this system on a few trucks over the last year, it turned out to be a huge time saver when it comes right down to it. When working most road projects, we only get one lane at a time while traffics running in the other one. So there's not a lot of room.

When a grader operator and dump man know what trucks have the system, they can make on the fly decisions as the truck enters the site whether the driver needs to spread, or make an adjustment for thicker or thinner spreading, or even if they just need to dump in a pile this time. The driver makes the appropriate change with a flip of a switch, and NEVER has to stop and get out.

Knowing what each gate settings going to give me on the ground, it takes away all the guess work from the driver, everyone's interpretation of six inches can really vary.

It really keeps the trucks from bunching up because there's no need for them to be stopping. This lets me control the amount of material I need in a hurry, and keeps the trucks flowing in and out of the project.

I like the accessibility of the system, everything is very easy to get at. The Chainless Gate System seems to be a very simple device, its not a complicated system that has a lot of parts and pieces. It's very simple, and a strong link you might say, that connects the tailgate to truck box in seconds for spreading gravel. The air and electrical equipment used are all standard, easy to find, and of high quality, its built to last. The air solenoid valves snap in and out for easy replacement if ever needed. I think it will do the job.

Chainless Gate Systems will eliminate exposure to the many hazards that truck drivers are exposed to in their everyday jobs. This should help eliminate the need to climb into the bed of the truck to clear plugging, pinch hazards from the tailgate closing, exposure when exiting and entering the truck, and just the hazard of being out of the truck in a construction or mining area.

I believe this product is going to be one of the greatest things that has hit the dump truck industry in the last 30 years. Not only is this product going to be a great cost savings, but will also improve efficiency and safety by keeping the truck driver in the cab of his truck where he belongs.

I have installed this system on the trucks at Krieg Construction, since 2005. I like how easy this system goes together. Everything is pre-built, it comes as a kit, so there's nothing to fabricate. The main thing is you have to make sure the area that you're going to weld is very clean before you start. Once that's done, you line up the frames on each side, clamp them down and weld them to the box. Once that's done, it's down to just drilling a few holes, and bolting things together. It takes about 6 hrs. with two men working as a team. It's very important to use a customized drill guide to keep the drilled holes at a 90 degree angle while drilling through the tailgate, and other areas as well. It's a nice product.
